Fire Breaks The Chains  - by Christie B – January 24, 2026

G  I was brought to the edge of an ocean
C  To a glimpse of that distant land
G  And I dared to ask God a question
D  To help me understand

C  Why am I here?
E  What can I do?
D  Is there a prayer
C  Or a word I can share
G To glorify You?

G I was brought to a furnace of trial
C Where my captors were singed by the heat
G I remembered my God, He is faithful
D  And His fire breaks the chains of defeat

C  While I am here
E  What can I do?
D  Is there a prayer
C  Or a word I can share
G To glorify You?

Em D C    Yay He said you’re here
G  Because I love you
G...D  There’s no one who smiles   D
D...C Or shines in My light   C
C..G The way that you do  G

G  While I stood upon that shore
C  And I blamed and judged them some more
D  He said I long for them at the door
C G  And that judgement's not yours

G  There's a sweet mystery
C  Jesus took the penalty
G  To set a criminal free
D  Sinful, made blameless, on that tree

C  While I am here
E  What can I do?
D  Is there a prayer
C  Or a word I can share
G To glorify You?

G So I walked among the broken
C  And it was not long to see
D  The beauty of which He had spoken
C..G  Blameless by His hands and feet

Em D C    Yay He said you’re here
G  Because I love you
G...D  There’s no one who smiles   D
D...C Or shines in My light   C
C..G The way that you do  G

(Based on the ropes that burned off in the furnace yet not Daniel,
he did not even smell of smoke)
(sounds similar to Come Jesus Come in G)
